The 'EurObserv'ER barometer, a European project co-funded by the ALTENER Programme, measures the progress of RES in each Member State of the EU, on the basis of economical and energetic indicators regularly published in the press. The Eurobserv’ER barometer groups together Observ’ER (France), EUREC Agency, EREC, EUFORES and Jozef Stefan Institute (Slovenia). EC BREC (Poland) is associated to the consortium as sub-contractor.
Published every 2 months in electronic version (PDF) and printed version within the Systèmes Solaires magazine, the EuroBarometer contains 3 sections:
18 thematic barometers (one every two months over three years)
Thematic sector-specific barometers assess the situation of the different sectors in each of the Member States of the EU-25, thereby focusing on the energy, industrial, and economic dynamisms of each sector.
3 overview barometers (one at the end of each year)
Overview barometers will review renewable energy development in each of the Member States of the EU-25.
The Interactive Barometers is an online tool to consult data from the EurObserv’ER Barometers. It is a module that allows internet users to set their own query parameters themselves by crossing a sector, an indicator (economic, energetic or political), a year and a geographic zone (a country or a group of countries) at the same time.
The results are displayed on maps of Europe that also provide information on sector potentials. The assembled data results from the Barometers published since 2001. The system can also be used to download desired results in the form of a PDF or Excel format file. The EurObserv’ER Barometers Project is supported by the European Commission.
