Overview of the Conference Venue
The Flagey Convention Centre began as the National Institute for Radio Emission (INR) which was built in 1930 by Belgian architect Joseph Diongre. Diongre focused on the acoustics of the building and by 1938 had created the “sound factory” which was to become one of the first radio houses in Europe.
In 1997 a group of private and artistic persons decided to restore the building and on the 30th June 1998 the “Maison de la Radio Flagey” was born.
Due to its quality studios and impeccable acoustics, the centre is now the perfect place to hold conferences and other events and will host EREC’s European Renewable Energy Policy Conference for the second time.
Flagey’s public entrance is situated on Place Sainte-Croix and has wheelchair access.
